Golden Boy may not be fresh to the dining scene but their food certainly is. Located on North Terrace, they've been serving up some of Adelaide's best Thai food for almost a decade now. Their Tuk Tuk option is probably one of the best dinner deals in the city. At $66 per person, a tailored dining experience is provided for you. The waitstaff will chat with you to design the menu and take into account your food allergies and preferences.

First up was the kingfish sashimi w. nam jim, coconut cream, kaffir & finger lime. This was a real party in the mouth encompassing the delights of fresh fish paired with bright, refreshing citrus.

Edamame, shiitake, black beans, chilli & pickled mustard greens. A milder side dish to take a break from the other flavour bombs.

I love Thai food for the variety yet careful balance of strong flavours and textures. The braised pork shoulder pancakes are a good example of this.

This dish changed my opinion about eggplant. I didn't know it could be this tantalising after being deep-fried, rather than the mushy texture I'm used to in other dishes.

I have to pass on the stir-fried squid as I don't like seafood, so you'll have to try it out and give me your opinion.

This kampot pepper fried chicken with tom yum mayo was such a treat. The batter stayed crispy even after the leftovers had been taken away after we realised we wouldn't be able to finish it.

My dish of the night was probably the massaman curry. This was the last savoury dish of the night and I was so close to telling them to stop serving us food because I was stuffed. The beef was super tender and fell apart with a spoon.

Usually, I don't drink, but did break the rule to for this lychee & guava cocktail which was worth it. Note that this wasn't part of the Tuk Tuk menu and was ordered at an additional cost.

The dinner ended with deep fried roti and pandan sauce. Simple, but tasty all the same with the crunchy pastry and thick, sweet sauce.

I am unfamiliar with the concept of having zero qualms with all the food when eating out and yet here we are. Where there were fresh elements the ingredients were at their peak, no sneaky overripe vegetables to spoil the whole plate. I'd highly recommend Golden Boy for a great night out and other special occasions. The staff will make sure you and your stomachs are well looked after.
