Festive spirit lights up city hall
Returning to Brisbane City Hall to enchant the crowds this festive season is the Gold Lotto City Hall Light Spectacular. The story of The Nutcracker will be magically brought to life through this 3D animated light and sound show. This special Christmas event will run nightly from Friday December 12th to Wednesday December 24th, every 15 minutes from 7pm to midnight.
Join Clara and her friends as they battle the evil King Rat through icy lands, before conquering the magical Christmas tree top star. Watch as the frozen edges of the City Hall façade crumble to reveal this timeless tale. There are also some new characters to spot across the building, including some very cute Christmas decorations. Make sure that you stay until the end of the show for the colourful celebratory fireworks.
If you enjoyed last year's show, you're sure to love this year's show too. While it once again follows the story of the Nutcracker, this show is far more adventurous and full of suspense. The crowds seem to have thinned from last year's launch, allowing a multitude of terrific vantage points from all over King George Square. There are also a few charity organisations out in the square this year offering Christmas merchandise that you may like to support.
