Published January 11th 2010
If you're looking for unique fashion and art then look no further than the Gold Coast Village Markets.

The markets boast to be a platform for emerging designers and artists. For amazing one of a kind fashion finds this is the place to go. Not only will you be supporting local producers but you'll also look amazing as well.

You might also consider throwing together a statement outfit to wear as they regularly photograph market goers to feature on their website and blog.

But there is so much more to the village markets then just clothes. If you interested in giving your home some individuality and style, there are stalls with original artwork and homewares that will satisfy anyone's tastes.

With so much variety it is almost impossible to leave empty handed.

Check out some of the range of items:

Johanna's Jumble

Rochelle Stone

Bubbles and Pie

Simone Helm

The markets have a wonderful atmosphere of community; anyone is welcome to showcase their works and there is quite a mix of eccentric stalls to satisfy everyone.

Held on the first Sunday of every month at Burleigh Heads State School from 8am to 1pm, it is a great chance to support local business and find some one-of-a-kind pieces.

Burleigh Heads is just over an hour drive from Brisbane. There are also trains to the Gold Coast and connecting buses to Burleigh Heads. Check out Translink's website for more information.
