As always the Gold Coast Theatre scene is flourishing with new productions left right and centre. Read on to hear exactly what is coming up this week in the theatre!

GOLD COAST LITTLE THEATRE
Nestled in the heart of the Central Gold Coast, GCLT is in full swing with its first production of the year, The Graduate. Following the story of College graduate, Benjamin Braddock, as he becomes uncertain about his future. Fighting terror and boredom, he becomes deeply conflicted, but very willing, when Mrs Robinson tempts him into an affair. This play is based on the iconic film and novel. A bitterly hilarious dark comedy exploring family dysfunction, parental expectations, crumbling marriages and the naive yet disillusioned dichotomy of youth.

GOLD COAST PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA
If you enjoy playing an instrument and live in the Ashmore area, the GC Philharmonic Orchestra is looking for some strumming musically inclined new members. There are vacancies in Strings, Woodwind, Brass and percussion!

THE DRAMA MERCHANT
Looking to entertain the kids after school? Then why not enrol them in the Readers Theatre Class: The Story Tellers. Bookings are being accepted for only NINE young readers, This term they will be bringing the story of Mr Toad to life from the famous book, The Wind in the Willows!

JAVEENBAH THEATRE
Interested in a unique piece of theatre 2 minutes from the highway, come down to Javeenbah Theatre's production of 35mm: A Musical Exhibition. This rare musical experience is a quick 2-minute drive from the highway featuring a combination of music and photography to create a rare theatrical experience described as 'Amazing' and 'Phenomenal.' Closing February 17

TWEED THEATRE COMPANY
Just a hop skip and a jump across the border is the fantastic Tweed Theatre Company as they rehearse for their upcoming children's pantomime, 12 Dancing Princesses. King Albert has twelve lovely daughters, all of whom he loves very much. So much so, he keeps them locked in the palace at all times, so how do they wear out their shoes in a single night?

MURWILLUMBAH THEATRE COMPANY
The Man From Earth is their most recent production, opening March 8! This delectable play tells John Oldman, a university professor who claims he is over 14,000 years old. Bixby, who also wrote the "Requiem for Methuselah" episode of Star Trek in 1969, incorporates similar concepts in this play. With a talented cast, this is an Australian premiere! BALLINA PLAYERS
Get rocked by this classic TV series turned stage production, Are You Being Served. The motley crew over at The Grace Brothers Department Store will come to life from March 15. The show follows the crazy staff as they prepare for a sale of German goods and prepare for a staff holiday in Spain. Tickets are on sale from Feb 18!
