First and foremost, the Gold Coast Ramble is all about assisting charities and raising much needed funds. This year, it's no different, and the event will be staged at the start of Homelessness Week on Sunday 5 August 2018 from 9am till 12noon at Appel Park on Nerang River (parking at Bruce Bishop Carpark), 10 Ferny Ave, Surfers Paradise. Register now for the 2 or 3 hour ramble, and support one or more of the nominated charities. Be sure to get family, friends and work colleagues to sponsor you at this event that's for all ages and fitness levels. Head to the website for all details, and to find out more about how this event works.
Arrive half an hour before the event with a fully charged smart phone. Dress your best in costume to explore the parks, malls and streets of Surfers Paradise and Main Beach, following clues to locate checkpoints. The challenge for earning points could involve fun activities, or a challenge about the immediate area that involves the heritage, the natural environment, street art or local infrastructure. Points are awarded for successful challenges with additional points available for donations to the Ramble's chosen charities.
There are prizes to be won, like the major 3 hour event prize of the Scenic Rim Trail donated by Spicers Retreats and the Best Performing Corporate Team prize for an on-air advertising package. The 2 hour family event could win you 12 months of family membership to KDV Sports Tennis and Minigolf and the craziest dressed will get a half day team Brewery Tour donated by Hop On Brewery Tours. There'll also be random draws for vouchers for Top Golf and a $250 professional photography gift voucher from Lana Noir Photography.
Join up, head to the streets, and have a whole lot of fun as you uncover secret locations, solve puzzles and raise money for local charities. This event is not only suited to all ages and levels of fitness, it is wheelchair and pram friendly too, so bring the whole family.
