Critique is an art form that requires a light touch, with a splash of irony and good humour to soften the blows.
From kayaks to superyachts, fishing rods to jet skis
Now in its fourth year, this 3-day event provides visitors with a unique behind-the-scenes view of our marine industry. It showcases everything from kayaks to super-yachts, fishing rods to jet-skis, and everything else in between.
Last year's expo attracted more than 22 000 visitors. The event showcased over 200 exhibitors from across Australia, with over 300 marine brands and more than 600 boats, across a massive 3km display circuit – on both land and water.
The 2014 event is expected to be even bigger and more exciting, with interactive demonstrations and live attractions. Facilities will include a central food court and multiple areas for children's entertainment.
Last year's expo raised over $21 000 for local charities by gold coin donation. This year they are hoping to raise a bit more for such worthy causes as the Rotary Club of Coomera River, Paradise Kids, the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter Rescue Service, and Sailability Gold Coast. To do this, the entry fees have been set at $8 (adults), $5 (pensioners), and children under 15 are free.
