Get ready for the third edition of Gold Coast Green Week from Saturday 31 May to Sunday 8 June!
This annual sustainability festival is a week-long community event hosted by Gecko-Gold Coast and Hinterland Environment Council. The event has grown over the past few years with more and more environmental groups, businesses and people involved in the caring and education of our natural environment.
This year, there will be more than 60 fantastic featured attractions and activities which will showcase the hard work of the local business community and the environmental awareness community groups. Residents and visitors are invited to enjoy these fabulous events at various locations on the Gold Coast. With a multitude of exciting experiences organised for Green Week, why not take advantage and enjoy what these organisations and businesses have to offer?
There are heaps of activities for all tastes and budgets. Animal lovers can visit the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary during Green Week for only $20 per person. Or head to Lamington National Park for O'Reilly's Wildlife Encounters Show. For something a bit more adventurous sign up for a kayak tour of Currumbin Creek and spot koalas, cockatoos, lorikeets, fruit bats and ospreys along the way.
If you're not afraid of the dark, then the Mount Tamborine Glow Worm Tour is for you. You can also participate in a tour of the Visy Materials Recovery Facility, Ecovillage at Currumbin, Pine Ridge Reserve and Currumbin RSL.
Those who are after a sporty day out can enjoy fun sports games with Stan the Active man, challenge themselves to a session of rock climbing, or head to Mt Nimmel Campground for some bush walking fun with Club Kokoda - Gold Coast. And keen photographers should register for their guided walk with a pro photographer along Burleigh Beach.
