Free family fun at the races
This annual family raceday is back for 2013 on Saturday 24 August, at the Gold Coast Turf Club, and it is shaping up to be a great family fun day - with plenty of free entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.
Sponsored by Ronald McDonald House, this event is all about raising money for seriously ill children, whilst providing a fun, safe and exciting day out for all the family. There is nothing quite like a day at the races, if you haven't been to the Gold Coast Turf Club yet, then what better time to try than at a free event, all about family and fun.
Free entertainment includes pony rides, jumping castle, live music, face painting, kids fashion in the field, racing, colouring in competition, games, BBQ and much more. A great opportunity for all the family to have a fun day out together, doing something a little different.
If you or your kids love horses, this is the perfect environment to get up close to these beautiful animals, in a relaxed friendly setting.
There is a special package deal for those looking for a little VIP treatment at $60 which includes entry, canapés and entertainment, otherwise general admission is just $15. Gates open at 10am with entertainment taking place between 11am and 3pm.
Gold Coast Turf Club is located in the heart of the Gold Coast in Bundall, just behind Surfers Paradise, it is pretty easy to find and there is plenty of parking. If you fancy a few drinks, then there is a free bus service operating for the day - you can find the timetable here.
