Going Green! Here not to save just the planet but the children from being bored during the school holidays. This online festival from 7-11 July is hosted by Creative Brimbank in partnership with the Environmental Film Festival Australia (EFFA). A mini festival that celebrates nature, and focuses on educating about environmental issues and preserving the natural environment through art.

This year's program is designed for primary aged school kids and their families and FREE of charge. Enjoy films, performances, workshops and art with your kids. You'll find the PROGRAM HERE. Sign Up and get the latest updates and keep in mind that some events require registration to secure your free spot.

On the 3rd and 10th July The Owls Apprentice by Little Wing Puppets is FREE but requires REGISTRATION. An interactive show that combines puppetry and physical comedy, it's filled with Australian birds, animals and mammals in a very Australian story.

The Lovely and Lonely Species Workshop on 7 Jul is presented by Jo Mott who will take you on a journey in your own home, hunting for everyday materials to recycle and make your own native animal while learning about their habitat. This workshop video will be delivered HERE.

For your viewing pleasure, you'll find a selection of six carefully curated SHORT FILMS HERE available 8 (1pm) - 9 (midnight) July. Suited to primary school kids, it touches on environmental topics ranging from the secret lives of little creatures invisible to the naked eye to stories from the oceans. Don't miss viewing these films on-demand over two days only.

With each film under 10 minutes, you'll find them all on the EFFA Vimeo Channel. The link will be posted throughout the next couple of weeks so stay tuned via the given links. Films, creators, themes will be highlighted and space will be available for conversations about the environment, nature and what we can do to save our precious earth.

The Puppetry of Paper Workshop presented by Jenny Ellis from Little Wing Puppets runs on 10 Jul for kids aged 5-12 and requires REGISTRATION. Using materials you have at home, kids will scrunch, rip, twist and tear and watch their page leap to life onto the stage. This interactive workshop will have the kids participate in drama games and short performances and older siblings are welcome to join in.

Before and beyond the festival dates, the She Danced and Sang Exhibition by artist Melanie Obst will run from 3-31 Jul and you can view it HERE on the given dates only. Melanie's semi-abstracted paintings drawn from native vegetation and the Wimmera landscape is bound to draw the attention of and questions from the kids no doubt. Hold on to the EVENT PAGE for updates.
