Watching this movie was inevitable. At first I thought, just another movie. Then I saw the trailer and thought that it has a chance to be a good action packed movie. However, I should have listened to my first thoughts. It is just another movie.

I decided to watch this movie in 3D at the Grand Cinema in Warwick. Nonetheless, I wished I had watched it in 2D and saved the money. Most 3D movies I have watched I have been engrossed in objects that fly out of the screen. This is what I term as 'special effects'. Unfortunately, there were more special effects in the adverts prior to the movie than the the movie itself.

Of course it starts in suspense, and because I have watched the previous version of Godzilla I knew something was going to happen. I just did not know when it was going to happen.

The movie has a bit of action in the start and then you spend the first half the movie trying to figure out when the lead character (namely Godzilla) will make its appearance. Of course it does, together with an introduction of some other characters whom are show cased in the trailer.

I was a little disappointed because this movie had a star studded cast which included Elizabeth Olsen (Kate and Ashley), Bryan Cranston (Malcolm in the Middle), and David Strathairn (The Bourne Legacy). However it missed that star packed action punch which I felt was highlighted in the trailer.

There is a small twist from the previous Godzilla movies that I will leave for you to find out. And although I did not find it packed with action and special effects, it is a good enough movie to watch with the teenagers. I would give this movie a 3 out of 5.
