A musical based upon the gospel according to St Matthew

Harbour Theatre Inc. and Studio2Stage are delighted to bring the incredible revival production of Stephen Schwarz's beloved Godspell to Perth this July.

A masterful retelling of the original sensation, this exciting new production, directed by Jodie Innes, is injected with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements of the classic songs you know and love, including the chart-topper 'Day By Day'.

The original story, by visionary playwright John-Michael Tebelak, was later made into a feature film, toured the world in local theatres and schools for decades and then triumphantly returned to Broadway for its 40th birthday in 2011. Thanks to its enduring messages of kindness, tolerance and love, Godspell continues to touch audiences worldwide.

Harbour Theatre is staging the 2012 revival version, which tells the story of a small group of people who help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and hefty doses of comic timing.

An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage.

Featuring a vibrant young cast, beautiful songs and exhilarating dance routines, director Jodie Innes manages to get what could be a challenging story across to audiences in a simple and fun way. Godspell will have you singing along and jumping for joy and if you have never seen the musical, you are in for a real treat!

The talented cast includes Tara Butt, Zachary Cave, Loralie Cole, Lachlan Felstead, Laura Foster, Shelby Foster, Edan Frazer, Mia Frazer, Michele Gould, Mikaela Innes, Amalie Meneghetti, Aaron O'Neil and Beth Tandy with Musical Direction by Maddie Moulin and Choreography by Mikaela Innes.
