Goddess: Power, Glamour, Rebellion at ACMI , Federation Square, corner Flinders and Swanston Streets, Melbourne, celebrates women who were trailblazers, binary-busters, agitators and instigators, on and off screen. To visit this exhibition, see here for tickets . This exhibition will be on display in Gallery 4, Lower Ground ACMI, till 1 October 2023 from 10am – 5pm daily (til 8pm on Saturdays). There's also a a slate of new Goddess events including Auslan and audio-described tours, exclusive screenings of the Thelma & Louise (1991) 4K restoration and more! See here for tickets to Thelma & Louise . Originally conceived as a low-budget, independent film, you'll see a fresh-faced 26 year old Brad Pitt in his breakout role.

Iconic stories, characters and moments from over 120 years of moving image history focuses on strong women who took creative control and fought a system that tried to exploit them and reduce them to the status of bombshell, starlet and screen siren. You'll see never-before-seen costumes, original sketches, interactive experiences and cinematic treasures, including iconic outfits worn by Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe, Geena Davis, Margot Robbie and more.

Goddess Sundays

Celebrating the above mentioned exhibition, Goddess Sundays are all about shining a spotlight on the revolutionary leading ladies of cinema. Every Sunday afternoon, make a date with these femme-led contemporary and classic films that deserve to be seen on the big screen at ACMI Cinemas, Level 2. Goddess Nights

Goddess Nights is when you get to party after the after hours exhibition with a dynamic, diverse and shapeshifting program of femme-focused live music and performance, once again celebrating and honouring women who kick at the boundaries within their craft. With just three dates left, it's a different lineup of entertainment on each event date. You'll find all the details and tickets here , then head to the Bar & Lounge at the Lightwell on the Ground Floor near Flinders street entrance, after viewing the exhibition at Gallery 4 on the Lower Ground. Please note: The Story of the Moving Image will not be open for Goddess Nights, however you can enjoy a tailored food menu from Hero, beverage offerings from Campari and Handpicked Wines, and extended retail hours.
