This Australia Day, why not spend the day basking in the sun on an island on the harbour, watching the colourful sails of the boats swirl around you, listening to the hottest 100 countdown and bopping to live electronica into the evening?

Sound good?

Last year was the first time running the event, so this year should be even better now they've had a chance to iron out the kinks.

One notable improvement is that your ticket price will include a scheduled ferry trip to Goat Island, rather than it being a first in, best dressed bun fight like last year. Unlike last year, this means that the ferries will only be taking people to the island between 12pm and 3pm, then taking people off from 11pm to 1am. If you need to leave before 11pm, you might want to have a water taxi number handy.

The lowdown

When: Australia Day, between 1pm and 10.30pm
Where: Goat Island, Sydney Harbour. Meet at Wharf 7, King Street Wharf for ferries to the island.
How much: $72.50 plus booking fee
Acts: Ngaire, Nina Las Vegas, Basenji, Kuren, Adi Toohey and Ariane will be performing, spread between a couple of stages. The Hottest 100 will be broadcast over speakers so you can chill out with friends and hang between Acts.
Alcohol: Available for purchase on the island. No BYO alcohol allowed, bag searches will be conducted on arrival at the island.
Food: Available to purchase from stalls on the island (courtesy of Buttery and Thievery), but also recommend bringing some snacks, or better yet, a picnic basket full of your favourite treats, so you don't need to queue
Vibe: Chilled, limited numbers so there's an exclusivity feel to this rather than a packed Big Day Out feel.
Who is it for?: Over eighteens, Triple J Hottest 100 fans, electronica fans, people who like to picnic and listen to music
