Get into the spirit of Holi with MUKKA on Sunday 5th May from 11.30am!**
After an amazing sold-out, mad colour party last year, MUKKA could not resist throwing a bigger, better and crazier Holi party 2.0 in 2019!
For one-day-only, MUKKA is taking over Batman Royal, an old military textiles factory in the post-industrial suburb of Coburg, to throw the ultimate family-friendly Holi party! Holi is a festival of colours where colours mean everything but nothing at the same time. It's a time to come together no matter what your background and break barriers, forget social inhibitions and go a little bit mad.
Expect a truly raucous affair with live entertainment, an awesome DJ and tons of Gulal (coloured powder)* to go crazy with!As part of the celebrations, MUKKA will serve guests a warming glass of house chai and mithai (Indian sweets) upon arrival and there will be a mini street food stall with hot dosas, samosas and bhel puri.Dosas are an all-day South Indian staple made from a fermented batter of de-husked black lentils and rice with different tantalising fillings such as spiced potato and smoky eggplant.
Party-goers will also enjoy a line-up of entertainment, including soothing melodies from classical Indian Instruments - Sitar, Tabla and Flute. Along with a blood pumping DJ on standby to whip out Bollywood/Dance music for the colour play. PLUS tons off Gulal (coloured powder) to go crazy with during the afternoon!
It's feverish! It's Intoxicating! It stays with you long after the colours have come awash, in your soul and in your mind.
The organisers of the event hope to bring everyone together in the true spirit of Holi "We want to give the people of Melbourne an opportunity to really forget social inhibitions, embrace solidarity, to feel as one, rub gulal (coloured powder) on complete strangers that may look different to you but on this day we are all the same - Multicoloured".
! Tickets are now on sale and include entry to the event, plenty of gulal (coloured powder), cloakroom, mithai (Indian Sweets), and House Chai.Early Bird price is $29.50pp and Kids under 15 years of age are $15pp. Secure your tickets today at Eventbrite .

*Only organic herbal colours made from natural ingredients will be used for this event Fun Fact: The Sitar has influenced a number of rock performers including George Harrison, the lead guitarist of the Beatles who studied the sitar and played the instrument on several songs. Sitar is a majestic stringed instrument of the lute family originating from the Indian sub-continent. Typically measuring about 1.2 metres (4 feet) in length, the sitar has a deep pear-shaped gourd body.
