The
City of Stonnington's award-winning
Glow Winter Arts Festival is back in 2016, bigger and better than ever. Embracing the strong artistic communities of Stonnington, with everything from comedy clubs to cinema, theatre, roving performers and live music, the diverse program offers something for arts lovers of all ages.
Running from
11th to 21st August, the packed program of free and ticketed events takes place on rooftops, in intimate spaces and traditional theatres. You can find the full program

Below are some of the Festival highlights.
Flicks 'n' Feasts
Flicks 'n' Feasts has become a staple of the Glow line up, bringing
four nights of themed FREE open-air cinema to Market Lane (next to Prahran Market). Delicious offerings from Melbourne's favourite food vans will be themed to match screenings of popular cult films such as Gremlins (1984), Labyrinth (1986), Roman Holiday (1953), and BMX Bandits (1983).
Blankets will be available for hire for those seeking the ultimate cosy experience.
Glow Comedy Club
The Glow Comedy Club has a new venue this year - the
Melbourne Bowling Club, 138 Union Street, Windsor.
Dilruk Jayasinha will MC on all three evenings, fresh off the back of his sold-out shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
The outstanding lineup is:

8pm, Friday 19th August:
Tom Gleeson, Tegan Higginbotham
8pm, Saturday 20th August:
Luke McGregor, Geraldine Hickey.

$35 adult /$25 concession plus booking fee.

Greville Projections
Greville Projections, run by the team behind Gertrude Street Projection Festival, will again illuminate the nooks and crannies of Greville Street with visually striking projections. Fairy Turner, Ian de Gruchy, Kate Geck and Nick Azidis will all exhibit work.
Arts Burst
City of Stonnington streets will come alive with a performance for
Arts Burst, where live theatre and roving acts will surprise and delight passers-by. Expect the unexpected in this vibrant and eclectic display that weaves through the streets after dark.
Arts Burst takes place from
6:30pm – 9:30pm in the following locations:
Friday 12th and Saturday 13th August: Glenferrie Road, Malvern and Chapel Street, Windsor;
Friday 19th and Saturday 20th August: Toorak Road, South Yarra and Greville Street, Prahran.
The diversity of entertainment includes giant hairy snails and their riders in
Gastropodia, and
Get Down and Dirty, a trio of sexy construction workers. All entertainment in
Arts Burst is

Particle Bloom
Award winning design practice, ENESS, teams up with DJs and bands to serve up a feast of multi-sensory delights for
Particle Bloom. Set to live music (selected shows only),
Particle Bloom takes you on a pleasure excursion of stereoscopic 3D visuals tuned to blow your mind. 3D glasses are provided at the door.
