[MOB1100L] The Rotary Club of Hampton is calling on all Baysiders and Melburnians far and wide to join in their Glow for Good Guinness World Record attempt on Saturday 18 April, in support of the Robert Connor Dawes Fund for pediatric brain cancer care and research into a cure.

Coinciding with Rotary's 110th birthday, festivities will kick off after their usual Saturday Bayside Farmers Market with rides, food vendors, stalls and entertainment for young and old from 4pm, including a World War Two fighter plane aerobatic display by Combat Flights .

At dusk, Hampton Rotary is hoping to smash the current US record of having 836 people light up glowsticks simultaneously, raising much needed funds for the Robert Connor Dawes Fund and lighting up the lives of some very sick little people and their families. Will you go down in the pages of history as one of the champions who made this possible? Register online by Monday 13 April to make your mark. Tickets must be bought ahead of the event and can't be purchased on the day due to strict Guinness World Records guidelines.

[MOB1101R] So here's the plan - grab your fresh seasonal produce at the farmers market from 8am to 1pm as usual, drop it home and then come back with your family and friends for a fun all-ages afternoon and evening.

As the sun sets, participants in the Glow for Good Guinness World Record attempt will converge on the beach and light up the night sky with not just hundreds upon hundreds of glowsticks, but also hope and solidarity; all working towards finding a cure for what is surely one of the cruelest cancers known to humankind, which kills more Australian children than any other disease. So come on Aussie, come on! Let's show the yanks what we're made of and smash this Guinness World Record out of the bay. Let them see our glowsticks from outer space!

Glow for Good is generously supported by the Sandringham Yacht Club .
