Gloria Jeans is hoping to pour more than 7 Olympic Swimming pools of cappuccinos over the 2 day Cappuccino for a Cause event.
This is Gloria Jean's Coffee Houses major fundraising event and is back bigger than ever in 2015! Being held over Friday 20th and Saturday 21st of March, take a break, meet a friend or two for a cappuccino and help support Variety Australia and all the amazing work they do for children. It could make you a superhero in the making, just by taking time out for a Cappuccino for a Cause.
Variety - the Children's Charity works through its fundraising and volunteer efforts to help build the futures of Aussie kids in need.
Their goal is for all Australian children to attain their full potential, regardless of ability or background. With Variety's mission being to empower all Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs, to live, laugh and learn. Variety aims to double the number of grants given in 2014 to give hope, joy and a better future to thousands more Australian children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.
For the first 65,000 cappuccinos sold during the two-day event, a total amount of $1 will go to Variety*. That makes an initial donation of $65,000 by Gloria Jeans to Variety which doubles the donation made in previous years.
If over 65,000 cups of coffee are made over the two days, that would mean that enough coffee to fill 7 Olympic swimming pools has been poured and consumed. If you add to that 40c for the sale of each chocolate heart cupcake over the 20th and 21st March, hopefully the amount raised will better last year's $175,000.
You don't have to have a cappuccino. Any style of coffee is counted. Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March. It's one of the easiest ways to give something forward. No massive marathon, no 12km ocean swim or rugged mountain terrain to clammer up and over, just you visit your local Gloria Jean's Coffee House and order a cappuccino for a cause!
