Pallavi is the heart and centre ofGlobal Fusion Food. In this pandemic, she refers to herself with a bit of humour as the Jobless Baker. Like everyone she lost her job this year and decided to use her time to start bringing joy to people through food. Not only is she talented she's also a lovely human being. She lends her hand to everything and can cater to whatever you require, be it baking, special occasion dinners, dinners simply to spoil yourself, cooking classes, cakes, desserts, you name it, she's up for it, with vegan and vegetarian options, even in desserts.
However, due to current government restrictions, you'd only be able to enjoy Pallavi's delicious offerings if you live within a 5km radius from Spring Street in Prahran. Check with Google, and if you're lucky enough to be living within this radius, check her website to order, or send your enquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org beforehand to customise your order and dietary requirements. As this is a one-woman-show, there's no delivery on offer, and you have to pick-up your order, which will be well packed. With current restrictions, it's not a big ask to travel within a 5km radius to pick up the food and give yourself a break from the kitchen.
Living in the City of Stonnington Council, I'm well within the allowed radius and have been lucky enough to taste some of Pallavi's delicious cakes as you can see in the last image of chocolate and cookies and cream cupcakes. They're not your super tiny little cupcakes but were almost muffin-sized, satisfying cupcakes. Not only did they taste and look scrumptious, but they were also beautifully boxed and packed for pick up.
I discovered Pallavi through the Prahran, Windsor and South Yarra Good Karma Network, a private group for locals in the City of Stonnington. It's a group created purely to help each other out through these crazy times. Since the beginning of the pandemic she's been offering out her cakes and is now renown in the group as the talented baker that she is, who makes great looking and tasting cupcakes.
You can literally go to the Instagram page for dinner inspirations, and get Pallavi to cook it for you. Cost on average is $20-$35 per head for dinner and some form of dessert. If you'd like to dine like a king or queen and would like to order the more expensive cuts of meats, seafood and so on, or get specific cakes etc. price will be adjusted accordingly. You can work all that out with Pallavi.
Find out more about the Jobless Baker on her website, which is very transparent, with recipes for everything she cooks, so you know exactly what goes into the meal. Sure, you could cook the food yourself, but this is about taking a break, giving yourself a treat, and supporting someone who produces delicious food at the same time. Share the joy and if you live within the 5km radius, lucky you.
