For $20 in your pocket, you get an updated wardrobe
The 29 February 2016 is not only a 'leap day', but a significant date on the sustainable fashion calendar. Melbourne's very own fashion swap organiser The Clothing Exchange, has partnered with Global Fashion Exchange to introduce clothes swapping events to an international audience.

Donating your unwanted clothes to the op shop is a gracious thing to do, but some clothes you might like to keep close to you because you're not quite ready to give them away. These are the clothes you save for clothes swaps, where you gain a new-to-you garment for every piece you give.
The February Melbourne Global Clothing Exchange, coincides with the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF). Although this is the 11th year The Clothing Exchange in Melbourne has participated in VAMFF's Cultural Program, this is the first time the event has collaborated with Global Clothing Exchange.
In Copenhagen Fashion Week a few years ago, a Global Clothing Exchange swap took place attracting 1,500 fashionistas to swap their clothes with others, introducing a new concept to the European city. Other cities that have been involved in the global fashion swap, or will be involved in the near future, include: Paris, London, Milano, Istanbul, Shanghai, New York and Los Angeles.
Are you interested in taking part in the global refashion revolution? Of course you are! The Global Clothing Exchange in Melbourne will take place at 6:30pm on 29 February 2016 at Deakin Edge, Federation Square.
Bring up to 6 items of seasonally appropriate clothes to swap on the night. All garments are checked for quality, so please bring along items of clothes, shoes or accessories that are free from faults and stains.
