A hot air balloon ride will blow your socks off
Up, up and away!
Looking out at the clouds from your aeroplane window is a beautiful sight, but nothing beats sailing through those clouds and feeling them on your face.
I had the pleasure of experiencing just that this week with Global Ballooning in the Yarra Valley. I found myself sailing across the sky 2000 ft up, with a front row seat to the sunrise, a bird's eye view of the beautiful Yarra Valley and an uninterrupted moment to watch the world go by. It is not something I will soon forget! If you are looking for something to do that is really unique, will leave you calm, inspired and exhilarated then buckle up Dorothy because the ground is going bye-bye.
Our journey began at Rochford's Winery where we checked in. From there we were transported to the airfield where we helped with the set-ups to get our balloon airborne. The process of setting up the balloon was interesting and everyone lends a hand. Once set-ups were complete we were given safety training and then we were up and away. The balloon ride runs for about an hour. We got to watch the sunrise from up in the balloon and had an amazing tour of the Yarra Valley. The experience is finished with a huge buffet breakfast and complimentary glass of champagne at Rochford's Winery. The experience goes for approximately 3-4 hours.
The crew were really friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Kiff, our pilot and guide, knows everything about hot air balloons. He has been a hot air balloon pilot for 27 years and has sailed all over the world. You can see that all the crew love what they do.
