There's nothing small about the Glenferrie Festival that attracts over 80,000 people annually. There's an equally large number of stalls (250 stalls) to cover the masses - selling food, market products and community stalls. It's the place to be on Sunday 3 March 2024 from 11am to 5pm at 573 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, to be entertained by a myriad of performers roving through the crowds. The Festival is located along Glenferrie Road, spanning from Barkers to Burwood Roads in Hawthorn. See the discussion section of the event page for more information about some of the stallholders. Facebook is a great way to stay in touch for updates and has a lot of interesting content about the Festival.

One of the first things you might want to do is pre-purchase your ride tickets here . It entitles the wearer unlimited rides throughout the day during the Festival. Pre-purchasing saves you $20 dollars (excludes booking fee) and pre-purchase tickets are on sale only until 2 March 2024. See here for height restrictions. Ride Wristband Collection Marquees will be at three locations.

  • Ride Tickets - Entry/Exit Burwood Road (Near Lynch Street)
  • Info Marquee - in front of COLES (689 Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn)
  • Ride Tickets - in front of 801 Glenferrie Road

  • You can also buy wristbands on the spot for $30 at the Festival, or opt for individual rides starting from $5+. You can get them either from the Ride Ticket or Information Marquees.

From stage performances to street acts, there's something for everyone at this all-ages event for the whole community. It's a fun way to mingle and experience the laid-back atmosphere with a strong sense of community, enjoy great food, and discover unique local products. Amongst the stallholders, existing Glenferrie businesses will also participate. You'll find the entertainment stage, temporary bars with beer gardens, interactive activities including Giant Games and a Petting Zoo, live music at the two Beer Gardens, rides of course, and so much more. See here for your lineup of entertainment. The Community Centre Stage is located at the corner of Linda Crescent and Glenferrie Road. Events kick off with an Acknowledgement of Country (Monique Ryan) at 11am, with entertainment following until 4.30pm. There's the energising DJ tunes, children's music, a lively four piece band, vibrant Flamenco Dancers and more.

The Kilburn Beer Garden is located opposite the Church near the corner of Burwood Road and Glenferrie Road, and has its own stage of entertainment from noon onwards with the DJ beats of Wunderkind (Jade). At 2pm you'll hear the enchanting melodies of Chloe Jade, an indie-folk singer-songwriter.

The Ramblers Ale Beer Garden is located opposite 801 Glenferrie Road, near the corner of Hawthorn Grove and Glenferrie Road. From noon onward, enjoy the sounds of TONIK featuring Lisa Worley and Tim Watson (TaxiRide), playing your favourite hits from across the decades and getting you up and grooving, or you can just take a seat and savour a selection of ales from Hawthorn independent micro=brewery.

There are a few little fundraiser events happening, with the Rotary Club selling their fabulous LightWalker walking sticks with a torch to help raise money for their Sierra Leone project. See here for more information and details of time (from 11am) and location (Rotary Glenferrie Stall, outside 698 Glenferrie Road). Rotary Club Camberwell also has a little 'local walk' planned to fundraise and bring awareness to the incurable blood cancer myeloma. See last image below for more information.

You can also visit the Hawthorn Magic and McDonald's Hawthorn's Marquee from 11am-5pm on Glenferrie Rd between Barkers and Burwood Road. Shoot some hoops, win some fantastic prizes, all whilst supporting the incredible work of Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Little ones can visit Eckersley's store (654 Glenferie Rd, Hawthorn) and enter the colouring in competition and explore various art materials from 11am-5pm. Don't miss out on the chance to book a watercolour workshop (suitable for beginners to intermediates) via their website . If you're a student, their Facebook currently has a student giveaway. One lucky student gets the chance to win an incredible prize pack filled with essential Art & Design supplies, valued at over $500! See here to enter . Entries close 31 March 2024.

Want a bit of a challenge? Mind Games Hawthorn has one of Australia's only Chess Grand Masters - Darryl Johansen playing 16 games of chess simultaneously against you. There's prizes to be won for anyone who can win from 11am-5pm on Glenferrie Rd, between Barkers and Burwood Roads. Mind Games beloved friends and runners up, Miller and Jordan from Lego Masters Season 1 will be on hand to celebrate everything Lego. There'll even be prizes!

There's so much more to enjoy, so make sure you put the date in the diary, so as not to miss the Festival.
