All happiness depends on a leisurely lunch
We went here to Glenelg Club Bar and Bistro for a family lunch a few weeks ago.
Located next to the Glenelg Primary School on the corner of Diagonal and Brighton Road, the Glenelg Football Club is huge brick building with an equally huge carpark.
Misleading from its exterior, when you walk inside it has a really nice modern interior with tasteful decorative choices and plenty of space between tables, meaning plenty of room for strollers and high chairs if you need them.
It was fairly quiet for a Saturday lunch when we arrived at 12pm, but it did fill up towards 1pm.
Now on to the food.
I'd have to say everything was delicious. I can also say that the chips were the nicest I have had in a long time. Crispy on the outside and soft in the centre, it had me wishing I had ordered my son's nuggets and chicken for myself instead of the butter chicken, although that was rather yummy too.
Chicken nuggets and the best chips ever
My son loved them!
The men went for the scotch fillet steak medium rare and both said it was cooked perfectly. My mum had the risotto and loved the subtle flavours. All meal sizes were generous with us taking home our leftovers for later on.
Even the desserts were amazing, in particular the chocolate brownie which as chocolate loves my partner and I devoured.
Can't remember the name of this one but it was my son's favourite!
The other good thing about this place is that if you take kids, there is plenty of room for them to run around on the oval outside in full view because of the big glass windows and doors. There is also a kids room with games and lounges as well as baby changing facilities in the disabled toilet, making this place very family friendly.
Will definitely be going back for a feed in the near future!
