If you long to walk on the soft, golden sand or swim in the vast, crystal, blue, ocean, than Glenelg in Adelaide Australia is for you. Children can splash around in the cool water or build sand castles as you sit and relax after a stressful week at work. Your furry friend will appreciate running on the crisp, white sand or on the cement path above it as he or she enjoys the day with you. While Glenelg is not as long as other beaches in the country it is long enough to provide people with a fun day out.

The beach is within walking distance from most apartments and hotels in the region; however, public transport is available if it is needed. You can drive and park your car or catch a tram to the glistening shore. Experience the local fare as you indulge and eat at any of the cafes or restaurants nearby. Enjoy the cool night air on your face as you admire the moonlight as you eat fish and chips or calamari rings on your own or with loved ones.

Older children will enjoy playing beach cricket or volley ball with you or their friends during the warmer months. You can spend time browsing around the various boutiques to your heart's content. Spoil yourself and spend hours in your favourite shop fingering the quaint products as you decide whether or not to buy a keepsake or a gift for that special person in your life. The local museum provides interstate and international tourists with an insight into South Australia's rich cultural heritage whenever they wish.
