Bigger on the Inside
You can't always judge a book- or a coffee shop- by its external covering.

Don't judge

Looking small but pleasant from the road, Glasshouse Coffee and Tea Merchants is like the Tardis inside. As well as several tables near the counter there is a comfy back deck and a long lushly planted, covered "backyard".

Whatever the weather you'll be comfortable here.

The food was great. A bright yellow yolked egg ( obviously from a happy hen), a generous serve of crisp bacon on a thin, sesame topped bread roll. I hate it when the roll is so thick you can hardly taste the food.

I must have looked a bit surprised at the number of questions I was asked when I placed my order because the conversation went like this:

Would you like some cheese on your roll? Do you want your coffee in a mug or a cup? Do you want it strong or mild? I ask a lot of questions don't I? I just want to be sure to get your order prefect for you. ( OK - can't argue with that)

Friendly Fellows gave great service.

The service was fabulous. Even though they were busy, I was acknowledged and brought water and spoken to while I waited.
There were also papers and magazine to browse while you wait which I like because I refuse to buy magazines - too expensive and highly repetitive - and seeing one now and then reminds me why I don't buy them.

It is also a venue for Live Music every Sunday, so if you are in the area call in 1pm to 4pm . On the 2nd and 4th Sundays each month music is provided by the Glasshouse Mountains Musos Club. There is no entry charge and meals and drinks are available. They encourage all styles of entertainment, but with an emphasis on folk, blues, world, jazz, improvisation, country, bluegrass and theatre music, through to poetry recitation!

Do call into the Nursery next door while you're there. They have some beautiful plants.
