Coinciding with the National Year of Reading 2012 initiative to promote and encourage reading, The State Theatre Company and the Burnside Library have organised a special evening to showcase Tennessee William's The Glass Menagerie as the selected play of the 2012.

This occasion will provide a wonderful opportunity for those who desire to write or act or simply enjoy theatre and have a desire to learn more about theatre production; you will be able to meet the director, Adam Cook and cast members, who will discuss the play and their roles and will be available to answer questions.

The State Theatre Company's Artistic Director Adam Cook was appointed to the role in 2004 and will leave the Company following the production of The Glass Menagerie.

The Glass Menagerie has an exciting cast: Kate Cheel (Three Sisters 2011, It Started With Swing 2011, Underground 2011), Nic English (The Misanthrope 2011, Holding the Man 2011), Anthony Gooley (Intermission - short film 2011, TV series: Underbelly, Packed to the Rafters, Home and Away), Deidre Rubenstein (26 TV titles including Underbelly, City Homicide, The Saddle Club, Neighbours, Blue Heelers).

The Glass Menagerie will be performed at the Dunstan Playhouse, Adelaide Festival Centre from 4 May until 26 May and bookings are available at BASS.
