On a recent visit to the Gold Coast I went to visit the Marina Mirage. I was keen to check out the luxurious Palazzo Versace and surrounding restaurants. Palazzo Versace was everything I expected. You felt regal as soon as you entered the beautiful foyer area.



We enjoyed a cold drink in the lounge bar and a peek around then decided to go out along the marina to find a suitable location for a late lunch.



We wandered around the outside deck of the marina looking for a restaurant. The views were impressive, beautiful boats bobbed in the crystal clear bay under a cloudless sky.







couldn't be missed. Perched on the edge of the Marina Mirage overlooking the yacht studded marina I could understand the choice in name as the water looked like glass.

The interior is beautifully fitted out with soft tan leather banquettes, elegant dining chairs and the main feature being the stunning tortoise shell marbled bar- glowing with amber light.







If you are a wine lover then you won't be disappointed here with a huge selection to choose from. The %26 Cocktail Menu 2015.pdf Wine menu is extensive with a special limited cellar selection from France.



There are plenty of options for seating, day or evening. Great for couples or groups. There is also cosy bar areas, if you just want to have a few drinks and gaze at the view.







Inside is air-conditioned which is a relief as I imagine it getting quite hot in summer. The layout is designed so you can still enjoy the stunning outlook over the marina.



It was a steaming hot day and we had it in our stubborn heads to sit outside. The stunning backdrop of luxury yachts was too hard to resist.



We were immediately greeted by a bubbly friendly waitress. The Special Big Board .pdf lunch menu looked delicious, consisting of nibbles, share plates, grills and fresh seafood. Their Head Chef Ben Armstrong had designed the perfect menu to suit anyone's taste at any time of day. As it was a very late lunch for us, with two of the group flying back to Sydney early evening - we all chose a Bucket of Fresh Prawns washed down with a lovely chilled %26 Cocktail Menu 2015.pdf "Torres De Casta" Rose from Spain.

When our prawns arrived we weren't disappointed. They were perfect meaty prawns with plenty of taste. The aiola dipping sauces were delicious.



This was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. I could see myself revisiting this restaurant throughout the summer. The food and service was impeccable and the waterside location is the perfect setting for an enjoyable dining destination.
