On a recent visit to the Gold Coast I went to visit the Marina Mirage. I was keen to check out the luxurious Palazzo Versace and surrounding restaurants. Palazzo Versace was everything I expected. You felt regal as soon as you entered the beautiful foyer area.
We were immediately greeted by a bubbly friendly waitress. The lunch menu looked delicious, consisting of nibbles, share plates, grills and fresh seafood. Their Head Chef Ben Armstrong had designed the perfect menu to suit anyone's taste at any time of day. As it was a very late lunch for us, with two of the group flying back to Sydney early evening - we all chose a Bucket of Fresh Prawns washed down with a lovely chilled "Torres De Casta" Rose from Spain.
When our prawns arrived we weren't disappointed. They were perfect meaty prawns with plenty of taste. The aiola dipping sauces were delicious.
This was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. I could see myself revisiting this restaurant throughout the summer. The food and service was impeccable and the waterside location is the perfect setting for an enjoyable dining destination.
