Makeup, Finally Explained
So let's face it - makeup is hard. Unless you're one of those rare and incomprehensible beings who are born knowing how to create a flawless 'smokey eye' rather than a 'recently punched in the eye', you've probably got three different foundations, a bunch of lipsticks you never wear, and some eye shadow your Mum gave you, all rolling around in your bathroom drawer. You probably figure, 'one day I'll get around to checking out those YouTube tutorials', but then Downton Abbey is on and ... yeah. Me too.
This is where the Glam Affair makeup workshops come in. I'll be honest - you're not going to walk out of here suddenly knowing how to make that elusive smokey eye, but you will probably have a few techniques under your belt.
During this 3 hour workshop, Crystal takes you through a no-nonsense approach to your makeup, teaching you about brush care, makeup maintenance (including what to chuck and when), and making sensible makeup choices. You'll learn layer-by-layer how to apply everything from primer to setting powder.
Crystal uses Kylie's Professional Mineral Makeup, which is mineral based and not tested on animals (a draw card for me). It is available for discounted purchase on the day but all of her techniques are transferrable to anything you have at home already.
I have to comment, I never do, but I did the Glam Affair course and found it very unprofessionally run, it was a disappointing hard sell for 3 hours of makeup that I have not heard of, that had a limited and older range of colors. If I wanted a Tupperware party for makeup I know they are around. And I also found the comments such as "When I am in the public..." by the presenter beyond ludicrous. Awful. You would be better off asking a professional at a dept store make up counter to teach you how to do it.
