GJ Walter park is located behind the Grandview Hotel. This waterside park is a fantastic spot to set up for a weekend BBQ. During low tide, you can spot thousands of shells along the shore and watch the ferries go by.

GJ Walter park has some impressive trees with hollow bottoms big enough for children to crawl through. The park has a huge grass area, fantastic for a game of cricket. You can also walk straight into the Grandview Hotel from this park, grab something to eat and still catch the water views.

The playground area is only small but enough to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours. Other facilities include:

  • BBQS

  • PUBLIC TOILET

  • PICNIC SHELTERS

  • LARGE GRASS AREA SUITABLE FOR BALL GAMES

  • OFF LEASH DOG AREA

  • SMALL SAND FALL PLAYGROUND WITH SWINGS

  • SMALL CAR PARK & STREET PARKING

  • BENCH SEATS UNDER SHADY TREES

  • DOG OFF LEASH AREA

  • PLENTY OF BINS

  • I've spent a lot time at this park. My tips are to avoid it on a very windy day, it seems to catch the worst of it. Be wary that when swimming the mud is quite thick further out, kids could get stuck. Also beware of stingers which are present around the bay at random times, usually you will find warning signs.

I really like this park - we've been there a few times. It's nice & quiet compared to others & love the bay views.

Hi Kate you forgot to mention all the koalas that can be found in the gum trees, and it's also a good spot to swim your dog in the off leash area.
