Gizmo Cats invites boys and girls (aged 7 years and up), teenagers and adults to engage with the science and technology behind our modern day devices.
For as little as $28 per class, you and your child can enjoy a range of interactive and hands-on activities, including a Push-Button Switch, which you can decorate, colour and wire to a Raspberry Pi computer board to control a Scratch video game character. The Raspberry Pi also runs Minecraft Pi, Python, Sonic Pi (Music Synthesis) and much more.
Held in a fun, safe and supportive atmosphere, this unique workshop series is facilitated by Oscar Naval, founder of Gizmo Cats.
We all know that children love to play the latest computer games and mobile phone apps but Oscar hopes this fascinating series of workshops will help children gain an appreciation of modern technology and how it works. For example, instead of children limiting themselves to just playing video games, how about making them with simple coding. Or, not just play Minecraft but change the Minecraft virtual world through Python programming skills.
Also on offer is a parent/adult only workshop to teach the parent or teach-the-teacher, so you to can work and play with your children using Scratch. These workshops run in the evenings and are perfect for attending after work.
Choose from 5 different workshop options these Summer! Early bookings are advised as places are limited per session.
