The
Christmas season is often a time for sharing and giving to one another. It is also a time of kindness. As you are kind to your family, friends and even strangers, why not be kind to our environment?
As the country's first carbon offset provider and not-for-profit organisation, Greenfleet* has spent 25 years combating the effects of climate change by planting biodiverse, native forests in
Australia and New Zealand. Its efforts are made possible through donations from the public.
What's important is donations received are used to create a native ecosystem that becomes habitat for many native wildlife species such as koalas, wallabies, bird species and even threatened invertebrates.
In Central Victoria, Greenfleet has been restoring previously cleared landscape with native trees and grasses in Ngulambarra located on the lands of the Dja Dja Wurrung people and forms part of the Wychitella Biolink.
Greenfleet takes a step further to legally protect these forests for up to 100 years to ensure they can provide long term, sustainable habitat for decades to come. Such efforts also contribute directly to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Since 1997, Greenfleet has planted more than 10 million native trees across 500 forests. These trees also capture more than 4 million tonnes of carbon over their lifetime thereby drawing down on carbon in the atmosphere and actively reduce the impacts of climate change.
You can take climate action and help grow our native forests this Christmas simply by donating to Greenfleet
here . Even a small gift of AUD10 can go towards planting and protecting a native tree in a biodiverse forest. In return, your donation is tax deductible and you also receive a certificate from Greenfleet to acknowledge your generosity. What a wonderful way to share the Christmas cheer around.
Wishing you and your family a Christmas and
New Year's Eve sustained by joy and happiness from helping to grow climate hope around Australia this year.
Greenfleet Trust is registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). Its status as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) organisation within Australia allows donations of AUD2 or more to be tax-deductible.
