is a campaign which encourages fashionable Melbourne women to donate clothes for sale in order to support women in the community.

This will be before the Spring Racing Carnival and you will be able to buy a fabulous dress that will suit you! You can buy them directly from the fashion show which will be held at the Glasshouse, on 18th October 2018. You can also get them from their Prahran op shop from 19th October onwards, which is after the fashion show.

Some of the women donating to this cause are women connected with the AFL. Other fashion worlds are uniting under the banner of Women for Women - which is women supporting other women in the community who need this help.

Give A Frock fundraises and these funds are necessary for Women's House. It is therefore imperative that organisers receive good quality frocks for this event and are asking for your support.

You can get involved with this organisation in several ways, and these include:
  • You could join Melbourne's most fashionable women by hosting your own Frock Party. You can register your party via email: [email protected]
  • If you do not know what clothes to buy for your new season wardrobe, why not come to their fashion show on 18th October - oh, and bring some friends! You can buy your tickets here . Tickets will also be available at the door at the Event.
  • You can pick up a bargain frock and wear a dress that matters from the Frock Shop at the Prahran Op Shop on Commercial Road, from 19 October.

  • will be held at The Glasshouse, Olympic Park, Olympic Boulevard, Melbourne. It will start at 6.30 pm and the cost is $60 and this includes entry and a glass of champagne.

    About Sacred Heart Mission
Sacred Heart Mission are the organisers of this event and right throughout the year, they assist hundreds of people who are experiencing homelessness or disadvantage. They help by finding them a shelter to live in and with food, and support in general.

Unfortunately, nowadays there can be as many as 22,000 Victorians experiencing homelessness. About 10,000 of these will be women.

Sacred Heart Mission run a Women's House which is a safe and supportive environment for women who are experiencing homelessness. It also helps those who will possibly become homeless.

Your donation of just $50 will fund one woman's visit for support at Women's House. If you can spare $100, this would feed a woman for a whole month.

    History of Give A Frock
In 2015, a partner of St Kilda Football Club's then CEO, D'Arne Finnis, wore a dress purchased from a Sacred Heart Mission Op Shop to the Brownlow dinner. She did this to help raise awareness of this organisation's work in the community.

Then again in 2016, she did this, and this time a few other women involved in the Club did the same. They all wore dresses bought from a Sacred Heart Mission Op Shop and talked about the importance of the work helping women experiencing homelessness.

    Give A Frock Ambassadors
Last year, women from across six AFL Clubs "Gave a Frock". Laura McLachlan, wife of Gillon McLachlan - AFL CEO, also got involved by donating her dresses. This helped to increase awareness and obtain more funds for the Mission's Women's House!

This year, D'Arne and Laura will again be Ambassadors for Give A Frock. They will be joined by the Chyka Keebaugh from Real Housewives of Melbourne.
