Gender equality is a walk in the park, thanks to this women's networking group.
Girls Who Can is an international network for empowering and connecting women. Their core values focus heavily on recognising the unique struggles that women of colour and members of the LGBT community face. The Girls Who Can website provides resources for women, including an advice blog and links to mental health, parenting, LGBT, and other relevant websites. Real-life events take place all over the world to raise funds and awareness, and to connect members of the tribe.
The first Brisbane Girls Who Can get-together will take place at the rose garden at New Farm Park on Saturday, 11 January from 2pm. To keep the event accessible, this one will be free to attend. Participants can expect a summer picnic vibe, with Instagram-worthy platters to graze from and good conversation with new friends and network contacts.
Everyone is welcome, and the organisers will host games and activities to facilitate mingling, so don't be afraid to come by yourself.
