According to statistics, 2 out of 10 kids that enjoy games, coding and technology are girls. Those numbers are significantly unbalanced and with the world heading towards a digital technology future it would make sense to encourage more girls to embrace technology.
Statistically girls often shy away from technology camps because they feel that boys are too boisterous and they can not keep up with their counterparts. Some girls believe that technology is only for boys.
TechCamps4Kids believe that a computer can not tell whether you are a boy or a girl and have endeavored to encourage more girls into technology. They way they do this is by offering Girls Only Minecraft Camps so that they can build a community which is encouraging and nurturing for girls.
Of course Minecraft camps are only one of the programs TechCamps4Kids offer, but they feel that by starting at a point that is fun and social means more girls will begin to see the amazing opportunities technology has to offer.
Girls Only Minecraft Camp will be held at the Leederville Library on 22 April 2016 from 09:30 am to 4 pm. Booking is essential. For your information you can visit their website.
