Bigger and better could be an understatement when it involves 560 kilograms of gingerbread, 420 kilograms of royal icing, 185 kilograms of marzipan (yum) and around 900 miniature Christmas trees, not to mention the first ever international structure; the Osaka Castle from Melbourne's Japanese sister city, Osaka.
We are of course talking about the Gingerbread Village by EPICURE, which will be on display at its new home; Riverside Gallery at Federation Square, in the City. You can visit it daily from 1-24 December 2018, between the hours of 9am to 8.15pm.
Entry to the Village is by nominal gold coin donation at this fundraiser, with all proceeds going to the Royal Children's Hospital. Get into the festive spirit and give a little or a lot! You can also donate online.
Kids activities abound, to ensure fun is had by all, young or old. EPICURE's pastry chefs will also be baking and selling delicious treats that'll make perfect Christmas treats for family and friends, provided you don't gobble it up first! Stay in touch via Facebook for updates and to follow the conversation. Meanwhile, be prepared to see the most amazing gingerbread village structure, patiently and lovingly made for your enjoyment!
