Returning to Melbourne for its second consecutive year, the promises to be bigger and even better than before. Over 1,000 redheads and coppertops are expected to turn out in celebration of their wonderfully unique, ginger-hued locks and no doubt it will be a sight to be seen.

Being held at Federation Square on Saturday 29th April 2017, everyone (regardless of their hair colour), is welcome to come enjoy the festivities and show their support for our vibrantly coloured friends. There's no need to feel left out if you don't have red hair. Temporary hair colour will be sprayed liberally around Fed Square to help transform you into a stunning red head, or you can blend in by wearing your finest red or ginger coloured wig.

Registration will open at 9.30am with the rally kicking off at 11am, then the ginger brigade will be taking to the streets, proudly waving their banners and flags and one thing is certain, these lively paraders will be painting the town red - literally.

In conjunction with the , all things red and ginger will be prominently on display in the city from free ginger beer to some lively displays of ginger beer pong and Melbourne band The Vanns will be performing alongside Luize Scott and Brentwood from the X Factor.

Kids can spend time in the activity zone with face painting, balloon sculpting, entertainment and interactive activities designed especially for them. And Single Events Melbourne will be on hand to supervise a few rounds of Ginger Speed Dating for anyone of the ginger variety who may be looking for similarly coloured love.

Be sure and dress up in your most vibrant, ginger best because the best-dressed ginger or redhead will win a $200 prepaid Visa and a year's supply of Buderim Ginger Beer, while the runner-up will take home a $100 prepaid Visa and a Buderim Ginger Hamper.

50% of funds raised from the sale of official merchandise being sold around this event is being donated to The Alannah & Madeline Foundation in support of child safety within our community and the enforcement of zero tolerance of bullying.

Be part of the or simply turn out for some colourful family fun on Saturday 29th April 2017 at Federation Square, Swanston Street, Melbourne. Participation is free.
