Impromptu adventuring, exploring our backyard and then putting pen to paper, hoping to entice you to try one, if not all, of our escapades, is my true reward!

For two and a half weeks enjoy the Ginger, Flower and Plant Emporium - Image: The Ginger Factory FB
It appears that we may not be celebrating a weekend of all things ginger at the much-loved annual Ginger Flower & Food Festival in 2021, but even better,
The Ginger Factory is extending an invitation to families to celebrate everything green, colourful and ginger-ish for two plus weeks in January, at the first-time-ever
Ginger, Flower and Plant Emporium.

A new addition to our garden in 2020, the Pink Torch Ginger
Starting on the 8 January 2021, garden lovers will be treated to a broad selection of plants and flowers for sale at the
Ginger, Flower and Plant Emporium, boasting the Sunshine Coast's best selection of exotic ginger plants and spectacular heliconias. I can personally vouch for the high quality and colourfulness of the striking plants on sale, as once a year our garden gets 'revamped' with new seasonal offerings from The Ginger Factory plant sale.

Heliconia - Lobster Claw, False Bird of Paradise
Visitors can take their time browsing the entire collection of plants, under shade sail at the outdoor emporium, plus the fully stocked hot house of unique tropical flowers. Flower and garden aficionados can happily select, at leisure, plants and flowers to turn private backyards into a paradisiacal explosion of colour.
With FREE entry to The Ginger Factory, why not make a day of it, there is always so much to do -

Take an Overboard boat ride in search of adventures
Ride the Overboard boat in search of adventures around the world, as the gingerbread man ducks and dives to escape the clutches of the ever-hungry chefs. Overboard is a gentle boat ride perfect for the whole family with music and animated puppets, featuring more than two hundred moving puppets. Tour times are every day between 9.30am and 4.00pm and run continuously. There is an additional cost for the Overboard ride, tickets are available at the ticket desk at the entrance to The Ginger Factory.

Moreton is peeking out behind the 'station master'
Enjoy a relaxing tour through nine hectares of lush-green sub-tropical gardens on board Moreton, the more than one hundred year old historical train, that calls The Ginger Factory home. Moreton used to be a sugar cane train working at the Moreton Sugar Mill in Nambour but now spends his days in 'retirement' taking Ginger Factory visitors on tours of the grounds.
Moreton train rides are every half an hour from 9.30am to 4.30pm daily. Tickets are available at the ticket desk at the entrance to The Ginger Factory.

My niece ... proving that Snakes and Ladders is for all ages!
There are so many free and fun play spaces for kids to play at The Ginger Factory. Let the children loose in a secure and undercover playground with tunnels, stairs, slides, windows for peeking and ropes for climbing. Toddlers will love the smaller play space especially designed for them with their very own train to climb, a carriage to crawl through and colourful balls to play with. Look out for the humungous Snakes and Ladders board, located very close to the Overboard boat ride.
