The decor is a delightful hodge podge with old-looking chairs and tables making it feel like a comfortable and casual kind of place. Posters for upcoming events fill one of the spaces on the walls, while there's also a nice little painting on another.
When she came back I ordered the porridge, and boy am I glad I did. It was one of those precious occasions in life where I didn't know that it was what I wanted but it was the perfect meal for then and there. It was tasty and nutritious and it was almost as if my body was saying thank you for giving me nourishment. It was served with almonds and brown sugar and a generous amount of banana and a little jug of warm milk.
Overall my trip to this cute little cafe was a very enjoyable one and testament to how good the porridge was is that I felt like the exact same meal again during the days after, but alas, I am yet to find its match.
Ginger Brown serves all day breakfast and lunch from 11:30 - they also do some really interesting lunch specials too - check out the facebook page for some snaps.
I certainly didn't regret my decision to pop in to this cute little cafe. Upon leaving I particularly enjoyed the view of Mt Wellington in the distance, and the satisfied feeling of a full belly left me ready to start the day.
