Event:
Drink some gin, eat some gourmet food and be happy
Who doesn't like a drop of gin? Well, there are probably some rare individuals out there who do not drink gin, but this is for all you fun loving people who do!

Currently, there is a round-up for all the gin-loving community of Brisbane to celebrate what we all love best ... gin. If you happen to be one of Brisbane's biggest gin-thusiast or you just simply love a good old fashioned G&T, you're invited to revel in this glorious spirit on Saturday 30th March. On this day, we will all bid farewell to the Brissie summer and usher in the gorgeous autumn days.

The Ginfused Festival will be a collaboration featuring some of Australia's finest distilleries who will be joining forces to celebrate all things botanical.

This festival will be on at the Pig 'N' Whistle Brunswick Street, 446 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley.

This will be a full day festival which will be an incredibly fun-filled day. Here you can have some artisan gin, attend free cocktail masterclasses, eat cheese or partake of charcuterie boards and even enjoy live music. And if you needed any more reason to participate, all attendees who register before the event will go in the draw to win an enormous prize package. This package will be full of - yes you guessed it - GIN!

DISTILLERIES
Here in Brisbane, we have some of the world's best gins and several of these firms will be taking part in this festival. Some of these include:

Brookies
Tanqueray
Nosferatu
Boodles

Jinzu
Gordon's Pink
Ink and Malfy

With more to be announced

FOOD
Perhaps one of the world's most iconic and favourite food and drink combinations is gin and cheese - for what is one without the other? It is like yin without its yang - or bread without butter - or perhaps fish without chips! I could go on but this article is not a quiz!

You can also see more about purchasing food below under registration or you can view their full menu here or the special Ginfused menu here.

REGISTRATION
You have several options here:
Either free registration with all attendees receiving one entry in the draw to win the prize package.

Free registration plus one token charcuterie board with all attendees receiving five entries in the draw to win the prize package. This one costs $35.

The winner of the prize package must pre-register and be in attendance on the day to win. The draw will take place at approximately 3.00 pm.

There are also other paid options which include food and you can see these plus get more information at this Facebook page. You can also make your bookings at this
Eventbrite site.

Now a bit about gin for those who are not in the know! When you first think of gin you may well think of gin versus vodka and what is the difference? There are some similarities such as both are "column-distilled spirits" , for example. But gin is not necessarily made from vodka.

Gin is distilled or redistilled with botanicals which are mostly juniper and this is used for an intentional flavour.

There are many different brands and styles of gin. Gin is the crucial ingredient to loads of prohibition-era and classic cocktails and is also the base spirit for many modern cocktails.
