I enjoy writing to give other people pleasure. I love traveling, eating out, finding fabulous cultural events at home and afar. I hope you'll like and try some of my discoveries, and favourite places and experiences.
Get your dancing shoes on and shimmy along to SkyPoint Observation Deck for a night of Gin and Jazz. On Saturday 9th June, you can dance the night away to a mix of swing, rock-n-roll and rockabilly, enjoy gin-based cocktails and a range of canapes while enjoying the views, dancing or listening to the music.
You'll find the SkyPoint Observation Deck on Level 77 of the Q1 Building in Surfers Paradise. This beachside observation deck offers a 360-degree view of the Gold Coast beaches to the hinterland and beyond. On Saturday night, it will become an 18 plus party venue. Dress in your best 1920's jazz or 2018 party outfits for this swinging jazz party. Why not come a little earlier and watch the sun set.
Brisbane based Jump, Jive and Wail is a seven-piece jazz band known for their energetic showmanship and ability to entice people to the dance floor with their musical collaboration including sax, trumpet, trombone, keys, bass, drums, guitar and vocals. You can get into the mood of their music with this preview.
When I think of gin, I think of Gin and Tonic, Martinis, Manhattans, Gin Fizz, Moon River and Singapore Slings. But gin has come a long way baby, and there are many more gin-based cocktails to choose from in 2018. At Skypoint Gin and Jazz, you can explore boutique Cin gin stations and enjoy cocktails made from the range of gins from the boutique Four Pillars and Herno distilleries and the exotic blue floral gin from Ink Gin. Guests will be able to choose from six cocktail varieties at this event. I can only imagine how exotic they will be.
The first 100 bookings will receive a FREE one-hour Gin Master Class prior to the event hosted by Ink Gin, where you will get the opportunity to create your own personalised gin.
This will be a great way to party on Saturday 9th June, so come along.
Tickets are $95 per person, you can book online at Skypoint
