Harbour Theatre is bringing its successful 2019 season to a spectacular close with Arnold Ridley's classic comedy-thriller The Ghost Train.
The Ghost Train arrives at Camelot's indoor theatre in Mosman Park on December 6 for a strictly limited season! Don't miss this thrilling ride dubbed "one of the scariest plays of all time!" 9 performances only!
Written in 1923 by English actor and playwright Arnold Ridley (best known as Private Godfrey in the television series Dad's Army), The Ghost Train tells the engrossing tale of a group of travellers stuck in a remote and haunted railway station. The story was inspired by Ridley's own experience of a missed connection!
Regarded as a modern classic, The Ghost Train hasn't run out of steam and remains popular today with many stage adaptations still being produced around the world.
The Harbour Theatre production will feature a talented ensemble cast with Tina Barker, Solonje Burns, Paul Cook, Liam Crevola, Shaun Griffin, Meredith Hunter, Rob Jackson, Ben Lowther, Marcus McGavock, Andrea O'Donnell and Tom Rees as the hapless band of travellers who end up having a night they will never forget!
Director Ann Speicher choose The Ghost Train as she "loves a good scary story at Christmas time and this one does not disappoint!"
She continues " The characters are all clearly defined and the plot is so incredibly well thought out. The sound and lighting effects are integral to this production and I am lucky to have a very experienced technical crew who are very excited to be involved in this production.
The cast I have selected are all outstanding actors who have taken on the challenges of portraying an excellent sense of time and place as well as the delicious period dialogue. Although there are some funny moments in this play, Ridley's aim was that it was to always to be played straight, which makes it an even scarier experience for audiences who can expect plenty of goose-bumps from this production!"
