A unique forest experience in the dark
https://www.forestrysa.com.au/ghostmushrooms/

The Ghost Mushroom Lane for 2023 is now open. This is a seasonal tourism experience presented by Forestry SA during the month of May and June each year. This tourism site is located within a known mushroom breeding ground among pine forests near Glencoe, about 16 kms from the town of Mt Gambier.

These unique luminous mushrooms emit a green glow at night and are best seen during dark nights without any light from the moon. The glow is caused by a chemical reaction between fungal enzymes and oxygen.

An access pass is required to visit the site. You can either tour the site by yourself or take their guided tour.

Visitors are advised to wear warm clothes, sensible shoes and bring a torch to help navigate the forest trails and uneven ground.

All information on how to get to the site, obtaining an access pass and conditions of entry can be found on the Forestry SA website.

The mushrooms don't loook green like in your photo. That is if looking from camera only. Don't get fooled everyone. But it is still a great phenomenon to behold.
