The Sydney Writers' Festival is back with a bang and this year's program is bigger and better that ever.
One event you won't want to miss is Getting Published: Words to the Wise. This event is a rare opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the publishing industry and what it takes to get published.
Like many writers, you probably feel that the world of publishing is something of an enigma and gaining knowledge on how to get your work in front of a publisher is not easy to come by. At this event, you'll gain incredible insight on how to increase your chances of getting noticed and learn some of the tips that have helped other writers to achieve their goal of having their works published. Stories of the publishing journey will be told by authors who have been there, done that and want other writers to realise their publishing dream too.
Getting Published: Words to the Wise is a FREE event featuring a panel of authors and industry professionals who will be sharing their stories and secrets with you. They include Robert Watkins, publisher at Hachette, Lex Hirst, commissioning editor at Random House and former co-director of the National Young Writers' Festival, and author/commentator Rosie Waterland. The panel will be facilitated by James Arvanitakis and is proudly supported by Western Sydney University.
This really is an event that could change your life as a writer so dust off those manuscripts in the bottom drawer and book now on the Sydney Writers' Festival website.
