The name of this new burger joint in Ashgrove says it all. The challenge is to step inside, wander down the narrow hallway style entry to the counter and get an authentic, American style burger. It's all about the burgers with options starting at $6.50 for "Getta Junior" with a junior patty, cheese, mayo and tomato sauce through to $18.00 for a "Getta BBC" with a double beef patty, double cheese, fried mozzarella sticks, cream cheese, pickles, white onion and BBQ sauce. Additional extras including bacon are available to add to the base burger along with several pulled pork meals. Getta Burger pride themselves on their point of difference – they grind and smoke the meat and make their own sauce. Impressive.
Of course, what else do you have with a burger but fries. After selecting your burger, there are 2 sizes of fries to choose from which range from $4.50-$11:00.
Walking out to the covered outside seating area, guests are greeted by a light space with bright, sunny yellow bench seats and condiments on each table. In fact, yellow, black and white are dominant colours which give a happy vibe. A car park is at the door which means easy and comfortable access.
As I left Getta Burger with a contented appetite, I smiled to see that Getta Burgers neighbours in this Dolton Shopping Village are Baskin Robbins and Jetts Fitness Centre. Tough choice – either finish off with ice-cream or hit the gym. I choose ice-cream. The Ashgrove store is the latest of one of 6 Getta Burger shops in Brisbane.
