Get Out

Get Out is a super scary film about Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams) on a weekend getaway. They have reached that dating point when it's time to meet the parents, Missy and Dean.

Chris asks if Rose's parents know he's black and the theme of race relations and fitting in continues throughout the film. The satire and offbeat jokes raise this above average slasher flick to a new level.

After the couple arrives at the parent's house, we realise something is amiss. There is more than just black mould in that basement. It's here we meet an array of unusual characters and then the yearly party begins.

Get Out

This is the only movie where I found myself cowering half way down my chair it's so relentlessly scary towards the end.

The sound effects are way over the top in parts, but they play an essential role in dialling up the shock factor and somehow turn an innocent scene into something sinister.

Get Out is highly recommended if you don't mind horror and gruesome death scenes. Get Out - Only in Cinemas from Thursday 4 May 2017.

5 stars.
