We stumbled on this black food van with a lineup of people behind it. We saw this as a good sign and decided to give it a try. 'German Sausage' was written on the side of the food van in big letters. Beside the van was a menu board. We tried German sausages before at Kuranda Market and tried to remember what we ordered that time while waiting to be served.

At last, it was our turn to be served. The lady behind the counter was very nice and talkative. First of all, we asked her to explain the difference between Bratwurst and Knackwurst sausages. It turned out that Bratwurst is a roasted or pan-fried sausage with finely chopped meat with lots of herbs. Knackwurst is usually heavily seasoned with garlic and its casing becomes extra crispy when heated, giving it a different texture and a specific sound when eating it. As a spicy food lover, I chose to have Chilli Cheese with curry spice ketchup as suggested by the lady behind the counter.

As we stepped aside to let other customers put their orders in, we heard them also ask about the difference between the sausages on the menu. I bet she has to answer these questions over and over again!

We didn't have to wait long until our order was ready. The sausages were blanketed inside a freshly baked Viennese roll. It had a burst of flavours in every bite. I could taste the chilli flakes in my Chilli Cheese and the curry sauce was just a perfect complement to it without overpowering the flavour. Hubby didn't allow me to have a bite of his Bratwurst but he said it was delish.

Later on, I learnt that there are lots of different types of German sausages. The also provides gluten free and vegetarian options. The source their ingredients from local butchers and offer the best bio products, such as sugar cane plates, bio-friendly napkins and bamboo utensils.

The also offers a rotating specialty board with traditional sausages from around the world including African, French, Italian, Russian, Swedish ... the list goes on. Go to their website to book your next event or join their Facebook page to find out where they will park their food van next.
