Adelaide local who loves her city

Just a short drive up the South Eastern Freeway and you are in the picturesque little town of Hahndorf. One of the best places to eat and drink is at the German Arms Hotel which also has loads of great atmosphere.

Situated in the heart of Hahndorf, this lovely establishment has a welcoming feel to it as soon as you walk in. The staff are friendly and more than happy to cater for any special needs you may have.

They have an excellent choice of dishes on the menu and as we found out ourselves, the chef is happy to whip up a special request for you. Our daughter has to have Diane Sauce on just about everything she eats, however it was not on the menu. We decided to ask the friendly waitress if they had the sauce at all. She went off to ask the chef and he said it was absolutely no trouble at all for him to make up the sauce for her.

With service like that we will definitely be returning in the very near future. The meals were delicious, we didn't have to wait for ages to actually get our meals, and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend you visit the German Arms Hotel next time you are in Hahndorf or why not take the drive up there especially to experience great food and service.

I love the German Arms hotel! I'm a big fan of German food (sausages, cabbage, and all of that sort of stuff!) so I absolutely love their authentic German menu. While the traditional food might not be everyone's cup of tea, it's worth a try.

I also love the atmosphere in there, you actually feel like you could be inside an authentic German tavern. Would love to head back there again.
