Plant Europe in your garden
Geraniums remind me of Europe in summer, there is a plethora of colour abound, all around - window boxes, hanging pots and gardens - I just love them! So when I drove past Geranium Cottage in Dural I made a mental note to go back to visit and that is what I did on the weekend. There are so many varieties and colours of geraniums and usually, we only think of the gorgeous red ones.
There are so many vivid colours - oranges, pinks, purples, variegated, pastels, small blooms, pastel colours, a beautiful rainbow of colour. There are also scented geraniums, the fragrance is in the leaves and when you rub them between your fingers you will release the sweet smell of rose, lemon, apple, and a personal favourite, chocolate mint. It all depends on the scented geranium you choose to grow.
Once you have perused the wonderful selection of geraniums and purchased your favourites, sit back and relax in the cafe while you think about the new spot in your garden or pot for your new additions. The cafe overlooks green pastures and has a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seating too for those glorious sunny days. There is a fireplace inside for the colder days, something to suit all weather dining.
If you have an interest in antiques, especially old wares from the garden, take a browse through Bobs Antiques, situated in a lovely wooden outbuilding next to the cafe. It's full of interesting garden equipment from a bygone era, I'm sure you will find something special to add to your geraniums.
