New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.
A family friendly event for all budding scientists
It's time again for the annual Geoscience Australia Open Day on Sunday, 20th August between 9am - 2pm. This family friendly event, held as part of National Science Week, will showcase the scientific work that Geoscience Australia does throughout the year, as well as a diverse program of free hands-on activities, science displays and talks for all ages. Learn about geology, build your own volcano, go panning for "gold", be a seafloor detective and also pick up a visitor passport to get stamped in each area of the Open Day. The on-site café will be open and there will also be a sausage sizzle - or bring your own picnic to enjoy on the lawns.
See the Geoscience Australia website for more details.
