Centenary Theatre, a wonderful amateur theatre group based in Chelmer, invites you to Pygmalion, a play by George Bernard Shaw, directed by Gary Kliger. Tickets are now on sale for this strictly limited season.
Regarded as Shaw's most popular play, Pygmalion has been adapted many times, most notably as the 1938 film of the same name, the 1956 stage musical My Fair Lady, and its 1964 film version.
Pygmalion is a powerful and moving tale of a young woman's struggle to find love and acceptance in a society that seeks to suppress her.
It tells the story of Henry Higgins, a professor of phonetics who makes a bet with his friend Colonel Pickering that he can successfully pass off a Cockney flower girl, Eliza Doolittle, as a refined society lady by teaching her how to speak with an upper-class accent and training her in etiquette.
Don't miss this special opportunity to see this timeless classic live on stage.
