Genetics and Genealogy: the New Frontier
Merilyn Pedrick will share her insights on Thursday 11 June 2015 at 10.00 a.m. Genealogist, Merilyn Pedrick, has a long standing interest in genealogy and is an active contributor to genealogy forums.

Her talk will look at how new developments in genetics are changing the practice of genealogy. People are able to get in touch with relatives previously unknown to them. Suddenly they have family living across the world or maybe even around the corner. Research methods are accessible to the public at a relatively small cost.

Dr. Rod Davies will speak on Researching the Davies Family History on Thursday 18 June 2015 at 10.00 a.m.

Rod Davies worked as a research scientist in Plant Biotechnology at Waite Institute. His interest in family history was sparked by his father and has grown (like a family tree) since his retirement. Rod's family has Cornish and Welsh roots and his talk will touch on the brick walls he has run into along the way.

The Honour Roll at the Church of the Epiphany, Crafers

The names of 57 who served in the Great War 1914-1918 are recorded on the church's splendid honour roll. All had some connection with the Anglican parish. Barbara Brummitt and others are piecing together the connections between people, parish and community. She will talk on this fascinating exercise that has had many twists.
